Derivation for centripetal acceleration formula

A body that moves in a circular motion (of radius r) at constant speed (v) is always being accelerated.  The acceleration is at right angles to the direction of motion (towards the center of the circle) and of magnitude v2 / r.
The direction of acceleration is deduced by symmetry arguments.  If the acceleration pointed out of the plane of the circle, then the body would leave the plane of the circle; it doesn't, so it isn't.  If the acceleration pointed in any direction other than perpendicular (left or right) then the body would speed up or slow down.  It doesn't.
Now for the magnitude.  Consider the distance traveled by the body over a small time increment Δt:
http://blogs.msdn.com/photos/matthew_van_eerde/images/9952566/original.aspx
We can calculate the arc length s as both the distance traveled (distance = rate * time = v Δt) and using the definition of a radian (arc = radius * angle in radians = r Δθ:)
http://blogs.msdn.com/photos/matthew_van_eerde/images/9952564/original.aspx
The angular velocity of the object is thus v / r (in radians per unit of time.)
The right half of the diagram is formed by putting the tails of the two v vectors together.  Note that Δθ is the same in both diagrams.

Note the passing from sin to cos is via l'Hôpital's rule.

Special laboratories are being developed at HBCSE for the purpose of experimental training. Resource persons from HBCSE and different institutions across the country will train the students.

5. IJSO: International Junior Sc. Olympiad.
Participation in International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)
The 6 student member team and 1 teacher leader will constitute the delegation to represent India at the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO
The  IJSO is held in nearly month of December.

    • For detailed syllabus of NEET, kindly visit: http://www.mciindia.org/tools/announcement/2011_FinalCoreSyllabus_NEET-UG/FinalCoreSyllabus_NEET-UG.pdf

  7. Impact of NEET: NEET shall replace-
    • All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT - the national level medical entrance test for MBBS courses), which till 2012 was being used for admissions for 15% seats of all government medical colleges except that of in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir
    • All individual MBBS entrance exams, which are being organized individually by state or colleges themselves (e.g. MHT-CET, AFMC, OJEE, EAMCET, Delhi-PMT, UP-CPMT, UT-PMT, R-PMT, HR-PMT, WB-JEE, JK-CET etc.)

  8. Benefit of NEET
    • One common examination for admission into almost all of the MBBS colleges in India
    • No need to apply for several entrance examinations
    • The students will be free and relaxed after appearing in only one exam
    • Stress-level will be considerably reduced which otherwise used to be there due to various entrance examinations spread over a period of three months (April-May-June)
    • Substantial financial savings for parents

  9. NEET-Reservation Policy
    • The Union health ministry has confirmed the state government that:
    • Their existing reservation policies would not be disturbed under the proposed scheme
    • State wise eligibility merit lists will be prepared for the respective state authorities to admit students for admission in accordance with theiry admission criteria in the institutions located in the respective states

  10. Why NEET?
    • To create an umbrella or single entrance exam for all medical aspirants in India
    • Till now admission to the se seats was done through national state level entrance exams. There were over 25 such different Medical Entrance Examinations in India for admission into various Govt. & Pvt. Medical Colleges
    • On an average a student appeared in 7-9 entrance exams, thereby causing unnecessary stress on them as well as on parents
    • Moreover, giving so many exams creates lot of financial burden for the parents since each examinations involves expenses like Application Fee & commuting to appear for the entrance test in various cities / at various test centres. So NEET will avoid unnecessary wastage of time, effort & money
    • Moreover, multiple exams also pose the challenge of preparing for different syllabi and patterns for students. This further increases the stress among students
